Decisive figure carries FC Twente, winning a penalty and supplying the clincher

Daouda Weidmann won the penalty in the 60th minute that unlocked FC Twente's 2-0 win over ADO Den Haag. The midfielder later created the clincher.

Driving into the box, Weidmann drew the foul for the spot kick. Wout Weghorst converted moments later (61.).

After the restart he delivered again, swinging in a cross from a recycled corner that Robin Propper headed in (74.).

He finished with an assist, a penalty won, two key passes and three tackles won, plus nine ball recoveries – a blend of craft and bite that kept ADO pinned back.

With Twente on the front foot, his ball-winning and delivery repeatedly tilted territory in the hosts' favour and ensured dangerous service into the area when it mattered.

FC Twente sit third on 13 points and host PSV next. ADO Den Haag are 18th and face Cambuur next.
