Martial Godo broke the game open in the 58th minute with a close-range finish as Strasbourg beat Lille 4-1 in Ligue 1.
After the restart, the Côte d'Ivoire forward arrived six yards out to turn in Diego Moreira's low delivery, capitalising on space in the middle of the box.
He doubled his haul with another poacher's finish from Julio Enciso's cross (72.), timing his run to meet the ball at the far post.
Godo's end product matched his all-round threat: two goals from two attempts, three key passes and two accurate crosses, a blend that constantly pressed Lille's back line onto the retreat.
Because Le Racing repeatedly found angles to deliver from wide areas, his penalty-area movement stayed dangerous and kept the contest tilted Strasbourg's way.
