Tómas Magnússon came off the bench to strike in the 88th minute with a right-footed finish from a set piece, giving Hearts a 1-0 win over Hibernian.
Meeting Harry Milne's cross, Magnússon guided his effort into the bottom left corner (88.), timing his run perfectly to attack the delivery after the dead ball.
He then helped the Jambos manage the closing stages, making two clearances and offering a late outlet to relieve pressure.
The Icelandic midfielder finished with one attempt, one goal and one touch in the box from four touches overall, a sharp cameo that unsettled Hibs when it mattered most.
The Jam Tarts visit Rangers next, while the Hibees host St Mirren.
