Decisive figure's towering header swings it for Portsmouth against Blackburn

Ibane Bowat decided it in the 79th minute with a glancing header, as Portsmouth beat Blackburn Rovers 2-1.

Meeting Conor Chaplin's cross from a corner, Bowat guided his header into the bottom left, turning a tight game in Portsmouth's favour.

Beyond the winner, Bowat anchored the back line. He made five clearances and four interceptions, and won four aerial duels, repeatedly dealing with Blackburn's deliveries and second balls.

His set piece presence at both ends told. The defender attacked space for the decisive header, then continued to dominate his box to see Portsmouth through the closing stages.

Portsmouth rise from 22nd to 21st in the Championship and visit Derby next. Blackburn remain 20th and host Millwall next.
