Danish star Amalie Vangsgaard has joined Women’s Super League side Aston Villa from Juventus for an undisclosed fee.
The pacy forward spent the last two seasons with Juve in Serie A where she won the league in 2024/25 alongside two domestic trophies. The 29-year-old has also previously represented PSG, Linköpings, Nordsjælland, Ballerup-Skovlunde and Fortuna Hjørring.
Aston Villa have already secured some big names as they prepare for the season ahead, with Kamilla Melgård already being announced.
Vangsgaard scored 11 goals in 62 appearances during a two-year spell with the Bianconere. Speaking about the factors in her decision making, she said: “I’m really excited and I think the WSL is a very strong league.
“I’m very excited to get into the football world of England. The goals they have for the future is a cool journey to be jumping on to. I’ll do my best to get as high in the league as possible.”

Vangsgaard revealed a desire to play in England and prove herself at WSL level.
“I think it’s very motivating to hear about Aston Villa and the plans and the players and staff. I’m really looking forward to it. I have a really good impression — I see that the club is really valuing the women’s team and the facilities are really good and I can’t wait to work here in preseason and get started.
“It’s always special to meet a new team and staff, coaches. It’s going to be very exciting. I’m really looking forward to it and to prove myself in the English league.”
Aston Villa will be looking to build on their ninth place finish in the WSL last season, which finished on particularly poor form with four losses in the last five games.
