Derby County With ‘Long Way To Go’ To Get Deal Over Line In Time | OneFootball

Derby County still have a ‘long way to go’ to complete a deal to bring back Crystal Palace midfielder David Ozoh before the transfer window closes, according to BBC Derby’s Dominic Dietrich.

Ozoh has spent the last two seasons on loan at Pride Park, notching up 47 appearances for the Rams but missing a chunk of action in his first season with multiple injury issues.

His more important performances came last season, with praise from a former EFL star coming his way in the process.

Following his return to Crystal Palace at the end of the season, Derby started making attempts to sign him permanently and the transfer was rated as ‘likely to get done’ at the beginning of August.

As the window ticked by though, it became less and less clear that the Rams would be able to bring Ozoh back to Pride Park.

Now though they are still keen, even in the dying hours of the transfer window, and efforts look to be happening to bring Ozoh back.

John Eustace’s team have a preference towards a permanent move, but an agreement is far from being reached.

It is claimed that there is a ‘long way to go’ if a deal is to get done before the window closes.

Derby have already signed one of last season’s loanees, Bobby Clark, and have also brought in Alex Mowatt from West Brom to strengthen their midfield position, but are keen on Ozoh as well.

Now it remains to be seen if Derby will be able to get a deal with Palace for the midfielder over the line.

While the window is due to close at 11pm, the Rams will be able to buy themselves extra time if they are in a position to put a deal sheet in to the EFL.
