Wales confirm Harry Wilson withdrawal after Leeds injury absence against Crystal Palace | OneFootball

Harry Wilson has withdrawn from the Wales squad with a quad injury, the federation announced on Monday, after missing Leeds United’s 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace.

Daniel Farke said on Friday the 29-year-old would miss the Premier League game and would probably be absent for Wales, adding he hopes to have him back after the international break.

Wilson had been set for his first Wales camp as a Leeds player following his free transfer from Fulham in the summer. He was due to report to Cardiff with Ethan Ampadu, Daniel James and Jayden Lienou.

Instead he will spend the break with Joe Rodon and Leeds’ medical staff while he recovers. He was one of three players to pull out of Craig Bellamy’s squad.

Former Leeds goalkeeper Karl Darlow has also withdrawn, after a nightmare Carabao Cup debut defeat to Brighton as Manchester United shot-stopper last week. He was on the bench for his new club’s 1-1 draw at Fulham on Sunday.

Ampadu, James and Lienou stay in a group playing four Nations League fixtures in the next three weeks, meeting Denmark twice, travelling to Portugal and hosting Norway. The trio are among a dozen Leeds players on senior international duty, with other call-ups including England pair Dominic Calvert-Lewin and James Trafford, German midfielder Anton Stach and Bosnian Tarik Muharemovic.
