Dick Advocaat has extended his contract as Curaçao head coach to 31 July 2027, the federation announced on Wednesday. It presented the move as continuity and stability after recent progress under the 78-year-old, who turns 79 at the end of September.

Curaçao competed at this summer’s World Cup in North America after a historic qualification under Advocaat. They finished bottom of Group E with one point, holding Ecuador 0-0 on 21 June.

The Dutchman led the Caribbean nation to that historic qualification, then left the role.

He returned in May to replace Fred Rutten.

Advocaat will announce his squad shortly for Concacaf Nations League matches against Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Trinidad and Tobago.
