“Didn’t convince” – Pundit says Chelsea player didn’t take his opportunity v Lincoln

A pundit has claimed that one Chelsea player did not take his chance to play in the game against Lincoln City this week.

I’ve already just written two other reaction articles on Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Lincoln City in the League Cup third round this morning, and it’s not a great look.

EXCLUSIVE! Cole Palmer now has NEW injury and will be out for a set time!

Defender Malo Gusto, who played in the game, has admitted that he and his team mates played like kids in periods of this game, and he’s not wrong there at all.

Chelsea are not going to be playing against Wolves in the next round of the competition, something that will please Enzo Maresca because he said that he would rather play Premier League opposition than League One sides after the Lincoln game.

Chelsea were so bad in this game and there weren’t many players you could say had a good game other than maybe Tyrique George and Andrey Santos.

But it was a chance for some of the fringe players to stake a claim to play more, a chance that they didn’t take at all.

Jorgensen was awful

Goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen had a rare opportunity to start a game and stake a claim, but he did the exact opposite of that. He was terrible.

Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton said on Jorgensen after the game:

“He flapped at a lot of things.

“A large part of football is having to take your opportunities when they come along.

“It was a big game for him, especially when you know what Lincoln are going to do – they’re going to be about long throws and set-plays into the box. He just didn’t convince.”
