Diego Moreira is set to miss time for Strasbourg after suffering an ankle sprain, a significant blow for Gary O’Neill’s side.

According to Glorioso 1904, the Belgium Under-19 international could be sidelined for up to a month, and his absence has prompted concern at the club.

The winger, who declined to renew his Benfica contract in 2023, had recently impressed in a standout display against Lyon.

He will miss the French Cup quarter-final against Reims and the Europa Conference League last 16 ties with Rijeka.

This season, Moreira has made 33 appearances for Strasbourg, 23 in Ligue 1, seven in the Europa Conference League and three in the French Cup.

Across 1,842 minutes he has three goals and five assists, and he is valued at €18 million.
