Rabby Nzingoula backs Championship as perfect fit and targets growth under James Morrison | OneFootball

Rabby Nzingoula says the Championship suits his game after completing a move from Strasbourg to West Bromwich Albion. The 20-year-old midfielder is eager to get started as the Baggies strengthen ahead of the new season.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the France youth international has signed a three-year contract in a deal worth about £two million, becoming Albion’s eighth summer addition. He links up with compatriot Nolan Galves.

Nzingoula has studied the division and expects its physical, high-intensity style to match how he plays. He is confident he can adapt quickly and believes head coach James Morrison, a former Albion midfielder with more than 300 appearances, can accelerate his development.

He follows Norwegian midfielder Felix Horn Myhre into a crowded engine room and will compete with Ousmane Diakite, Alex Mowatt and Jayson Molumby for places. Molumby has attracted summer speculation, though Morrison has indicated the Irishman remains an important squad member.

Nzingoula has 16 France under-20 caps and around 50 senior appearances. He made his Strasbourg first-team debut in February 2024, two years after joining their academy, and totalled 14 outings, including three starts, for the BlueCo-owned club.

Most of his senior minutes came on loan, with 27 games, 20 of them starts, and one goal for Montpellier in 2024/25 as they finished bottom and were relegated. He then split last season between Strasbourg and Nurnberg, scoring once in 15 outings under Miroslav Klose as the German side finished eighth in Bundesliga two.
