Diego Simeone hails Barcelona boss Flick ahead of Copa clash | OneFootball

Atlético Madrid head coach Diego Simeone has moved to reveal his appreciation for the tactical nous and commitment of Barcelona counterpart Hansi Flick.

This of course comes ahead of the two managers locking horns for the latest occasion on Thursday.

The Rojiblancos will act as hosts tomorrow evening, welcoming Barca to Spain’s capital for a Copa del Rey semi-final first-leg clash.

This is the same stage of the competition in which the clubs met last season, with the latter having ultimately triumphed en route to lifting the Copa title.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference on Wednesday, the subject of the test awaiting his side in battling their way beyond a rampant Blaugrana was therefore put to Diego Simeone.

And the Argentine tactician made use of the opportunity to heap praise on counterpart Hansi Flick:

“I give credit to Flick for consistently continuing with the high line, for maintaining that suffocating pressure in the opponent’s territory, and for convincing his players to play with so much risk.”
