Dieng move called off after failed medical

Dieng is no longer set to sign for Lazio after the first medical tests flagged a knee problem.

Sky Sport Italia reports the move has been called off following those checks, and the decision is considered almost final.

The 26-year-old Senegal striker enjoyed a strong final season at Lorient, scoring 15 goals in 25 appearances, then left at the end of his contract.

He flew into Rome on Wednesday after reaching an unexpected agreement with the club, and was due to sign on Thursday.

Earlier in the summer he had already failed a medical at Amed SK, allegedly due to a knee issue.
