According to Globo.com, Fernando Diniz observed Memphis Depay with the Corinthians starters on Wednesday ahead of the Libertadores last 16 tie with Rosario Central, but the Dutch forward is expected to start on the bench.

Memphis, who has renewed his contract, took part in part of the session and received instructions from Diniz, though he is still building fitness and match sharpness. He has not completed a match since March, when he started and scored in a 1-1 draw with Santos. He then suffered a thigh injury, featured for only 45 minutes at the World Cup, and his future at Corinthians was uncertain.

In Tuesday’s work, Kaio César and Pedro Raul led the line for much of the time. Yuri Alberto is still recovering from a right hamstring issue and remains out.

On the eve of the decider, Diniz also chose André Carrillo to replace Allan, who is suspended after last week’s red card. The expected XI is Hugo Souza in goal and a back four of Matheuzinho, Gabriel Paulista, Gustavo Henrique and Matheus Bidu. Raniele, Carrillo, Breno Bidon and Rodrigo Garro are set to start in midfield, with Kaio César and Pedro Raul up front.

Besides Yuri and Allan, midfielders André and Zakaria Labyad and forwards Vitinho and Kayke are also sidelined in the medical department.

Kick-off is 21:30 Brasília time on Thursday at Neo Química Arena. After a 0-0 first leg, the winners will go through, while another draw would mean penalties. If Corinthians advance, they will face Estudiantes of Argentina in the quarter-finals.
