Divine Mukasa has joined Leicester City on loan from Manchester City for the second half of the season, adding attacking depth.

According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, hamstring issues for Jordan James and Aaron Ramsey, sidelined until at least March, have left a gap in advanced midfield, and the 18-year-old offers cover despite limited senior minutes.

Mukasa has six senior outings and two assists, one for Phil Foden on debut against Huddersfield, then another for Ryan McAidoo in a 10-1 win over Exeter. At youth level last season he produced 17 goals and 24 assists in 34 matches across the Under-18 Premier League, Uefa Youth League and FA Youth Cup. This term he has seven goals and one assist in 13 games for the Under-21s and Under-18s.

Academy coaches praise his two-footed control and vision, with Oliver Reiss noting how effortless he can look. Kolo Toure has been influential, reportedly staying on to work on his finishing.

Mukasa was used as a false nine on his September debut, a role he had barely played and one that still draws on midfield instincts. Pep Guardiola commended his touch, awareness in pockets and work-rate. Alongside Dujuan Richards, he could also give Leicester another option up front.

He lacks the senior experience of James and Ramsey, so his impact will be judged on performances. For now, the talent is clear and Leicester will hope to see flashes of it in the months ahead.
