Corinthians head coach Dorival Júnior has set out how he is managing his squad after a short pre-season and a spate of injuries, and said forward Kaio César is close to returning.
According to Meu Timao, Kaio hurt his right thigh 14 minutes into the win over Capivariano in the Paulista, and the coach said he believes the forward will step up between Monday and Wednesday, probably to be available at the weekend. If not, he was confident it would be by midweek the following week.
He added that left-back Fabrizio Angileri and midfielder Zakaria Labyad will take longer to make their first appearances after extended spells without playing.
Angileri, he said, could be ready ahead of Labyad thanks to his condition, yet is unlikely to feature this week and may only be considered towards the end of the second week.
Labyad has not yet been announced by the club as he completes the paperwork required for foreign players to work in Brazil. Angileri, who represented Corinthians in 2025, has been unveiled and is registered to play.
Corinthians are back in action on Thursday, away to Ahtletico-PR at 19:30 in the second round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
