Durban City claimed a comfortable 3-0 victory over Orbit College in a Betway Premiership tie at the Olympia Park Stadium on Wednesday.

The visitors broke the deadlock on the stroke of halftime as experienced campaigner Thabo Nodada calmly slotted home from the spot.

City picked up where they left off in the second half, with Samkelo Maseko doubling the lead in the 55th minute.

Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Cape Town City star Haashim Domingo put the game beyond reasonable double when he rounded up the scoring in stoppage time.

With the result, the KwaZulu-Natal side climbed to seventh on the log standings as they picked up 22 points from 15 league outings.

Interestingly, the 2024/25 Motsepe Foundation Championship winners shockingly sacked Gavin Hunt after a defeat to Orlando Pirates last Saturday.

Meanwhile, it was Orbit's third defeat in a row and the Mswenko Boys conceded nine goals, while scoring only two during that period.

Pogiso Makhoye's charges currently sit 13th, with 13 points from 14 games. Orbit are four points clear of the relegation zone and two above the playoff spot.
