Joao Palhinha, Sacha Boey, and Bryan Zaragoza are expected to leave FC Bayern. Sporting Director Max Eberl provides an update on the status of the planned transfers in Hong Kong.
FC Bayern has already signed two high-profile newcomers in Ismael Saibari and Nathaniel Brown, and the permanent signing of prospect Bara Sapoko Ndiaye will soon be made official.
However, sporting director Max Eberl still has work to do on the sales front. Three players no longer have a future at Bayern—a point the club’s leadership has made clear on multiple occasions recently: Joao Palhinha, Sacha Boey, and Bryan Zaragoza are expected to leave the club.
Eberl reiterated this during a press conference in Hong Kong on the sidelines of the German record champions’ tour of Asia.
“Our position is very clear, and it hasn’t changed over the past three days,” he said.
Eberl is optimistic that buyers will still be found for the three players on the transfer list: “You can tell that the transfer market is extremely volatile right now. There are some extremely big transfers happening again. I believe that August will actually be very, very intense once more.”
The 52-year-old elaborated: “We’d like to get things sorted out sooner. But to a certain extent, of course, we’re dependent on what happens. Who are the interested parties? Which teams are still in the running to qualify for the Champions League or Europa League during preseason?”

Eberl’s conclusion: “There are still a few unknowns that can’t be decided on yet.”
The Bayern boss reported that there are interested parties for Palhinha, Boey, and Zaragoza, but the talks are apparently still in an early stage:“Things are moving; we can definitely say that. The guys are already attracting interest on the market, but it’s not as if something is going to happen in the next one, two, or three days.”
