Eddie Howe and Newcastle United now looking to follow up the trio of home wins in quick succession this past week and a half.

Eddie Howe giving these key updates.

“This is a big game for us.

“As we go towards the next international break these next two games are huge.”

“They have a group of very good players, especially in the attacking areas, we are going to have our work cut out to limit the space for their attacking talent.

“Our away form has not been strong enough and we want to put that right in this game.”

Eddie Howe on team-news:

“No fresh injuries, we are still managing Will Osula’s ankle, we will see how he is today but apart from that we are as we were.

“Hopefully Lewis Hall will be training with us today, we will see how he looks, he’s looked after himself, looks in good shape but we will have to re-introduce him at the right time.”

Eddie Howe on the Carabao Cup draw:

“We asked for a home tie so that was gratefully received, tough game having just played against Fulham, that makes it an interesting one for us. Very narrow victory, we look forward to it when it comes around, but we are pleased to be at home.”

Sky Sports updates on what Eddie Howe had to say this morning:

Eddie Howe on Malick Thiaw:

“Malick is a player we have known for a long, long time and we had made various attempts to try and sign him, but it hadn’t worked out in previous windows.

“This window we felt things might align a bit better due to his situation at AC Milan and our available funds etc.

“It wasn’t an easy transfer to complete but we were delighted to see off any other suitors and get him.

“It’s been a long pursuit but worth the wait.”

Eddie Howe on Yoane Wissa return date:

“He’s on the grass and working but he definitely won’t be involved on Sunday.

“I’d say he’s not close to training with the group due to fitness.
