The Egyptian Football Association EFA's stepped up efforts to convince Haissem Hassan, the Real Oviedo winger to join the Pharaohs squad for the October 2025 camp amid growing interest from Tunisia.

Hossam Hassan’s personal request

According to Reports, Egypt coach Hossam Hassan requested the federation to reopen talks with the 23 year old.

Hassan'd previously rejected call up to the Olympic team under Hossam insisting his international debut should come with the senior national team and ideally at the 2025 Africa cup of Nations.

Tunisia in the race

The Tunisian FA also entered the race in recent weeks attempting to lure the player.

However reports indicate that Haissem prefers representing Egypt, the country of his father over Tunisia or France.

Hassan previously represented France at youth level .. but is now leaning strongly toward pledging his senior future to egypt.

If confirmed, this would be major boost for the Pharaohs who lead Group A in the 2026 World cup qualifiers and are preparing for decisive AFCON campaign in Morocco.
