As reported by Florian Plettenberg, Eintracht Frankfurt have agreed personal terms with Hertha Berlin forward Jessic Ngankam.
Eintracht’s ongoing pursuit of Hertha striker Ngankam looks to have finally taken a positive turn for Die Adler. There is a verbal agreement in place between the 22-year-old and the Eagles over a contract, however, Eintracht now need to negotiate with Hertha.
According to Sky Germany, Die Alte Dame have insisted that they will not sell the young striker for less than €10m, despite current financial problems. Nevertheless, Frankfurt’s position is very clear, they are not willing to offer more than €4m + add-ons.
It will now be a game of poker between the two clubs, who both see Ngankam as perfectly fitting into their long-term project. Hertha are hoping that by keeping Ngankam at the club, the Berlin native will be able to fire the capital club back up to the Bundesliga.
However, Eintracht sporting director Markus Krösche and head coach Dino Toppmöller have convinced Ngankam on a move to Frankfurt after presenting their plans and their project. For Eintracht, signing Ngankam could be the ideal replacement for Randal Kolo Muani – who now looks set to depart next season – as he would also be given time to develop under Toppmöller in the Bundesliga.
