According to Kicker, Eintracht Frankfurt have agreed a €17m deal to sell Ritsu Doan to Al-Ittihad, with only final formalities left before the 28-year-old completes his move.
The sale represents a financial concession. Frankfurt paid SC Freiburg about €21m last summer and are set to take roughly a €4m loss after one season to raise funds.
Doan did not match his Freiburg peak in Hessen, but remained important in 2025/26. He produced four goals and four assists in the Hinrunde, all in wins, and figured in five of seven league victories.
After Albert Riera’s appointment he was often used out of position in the Rückrunde, adding only one goal and one assist, and hopes Adi Hütter’s return might revive him have been overtaken by finances.
The report added no concrete bids had emerged for Fares Chaïbi, Hugo Larsson or Jean-Matteo Bahoya as of Sunday. In parallel, Frankfurt are pursuing a second loan for Nottingham Forest striker Arnaud Kalimuendo, with talks reportedly advanced.
Frankfurt are juggling two attacking deals, cashing in on Doan while seeking Kalimuendo without a major permanent outlay. Al-Ittihad’s window extends beyond the German deadline, but Frankfurt’s need for funds is accelerating the Doan move.
