Sky Germany reports that Eintracht Frankfurt want to extend the contract of striker Omar Marmoush amid interest from Liverpool.

The Egyptian’s current contract is valid until 2027 and there is no release clause in the deal. Frankfurt wants to extend the contract by a year until 2028 with a pay rise, but Marmoush is currently hesitating on accepting an offer.

Liverpool are said to have Marmoush on their list, who came close to joining Nottingham Forest in the summer but instead opted to stay at Deutsche Bank Park.

Marmoush has had a fantastic start to the Bundesliga season. The 25-year-old has nine goals and six assists in nine games for Frankfurt and showed just how much he improved at the weekend when he scored twice and assisted in Frankfurt’s 3-3 draw with Bayern Munich. He has also formed a deadly partnership with fellow striker Hugo Ekitiké with the pair one of the deadliest duos in Europe at the moment.

So far, Frankfurt’s acquisition of Marmoush just over a year ago looks like a steal as he joined the club on a free transfer from fellow Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.
