Enes Alić's free-kick in the sixth minute of second half stoppage time earned St Johnstone a 1-1 draw with Falkirk at McDiarmid Park, lifting the hosts from seventh to sixth in the Scottish Premiership.

After the restart, Cheick Diabaté received a second yellow and was sent off in the 53rd minute.

Ethan Ross then swept in from close range for the visitors (60.), finishing Owen Eames' pass.

Scott Bain preserved The Bairns' lead with sharp saves from Alić (69.) and Ruari Paton (70.). Zach Mitchell later departed injured, with Danny Schmidt introduced (77.).

Alić bent a left-footed free-kick into the top right corner in the sixth minute of second half stoppage time to snatch a point. Moments earlier, Taylor Steven had won the set piece high up the pitch.

St Johnstone registered five shots on target from eight attempts. The Bairns produced 13 attempts and won eight corners.
