As Barcelona gear up for the away match against Real Sociedad this evening, one of the players who will be in focus is Marcus Rashford.

After joining Barça on a season-long loan deal, Rashford’s future has been up in the air, especially with the club having the option to activate a buyout clause worth €30 million.

The forward has done well at Camp Nou so far, racking up 7 goals and 11 assists in all competitions – making him one of the most productive attackers at the club.

What’s the latest situation?

A recent report from Diario SPORT points out that Barcelona are extremely pleased with Rashford’s progress.

The English international has impressed onlookers with his commitment levels and desire to do well for the club.

Rashford has also integrated very quickly, building a solid bond with his teammates in a matter of months. All of this is coupled with his impressive tally.

Barcelona, therefore, are seriously thinking about activating his €30 million buyout clause, though it is not ruled out that the club might want to re-negotiate with Man United.

A big evening ahead

As Rashford continues to do well, tonight’s game against Real Sociedad could be a very important one for the on-loan Man United forward.

For all his brilliance, Rashford has fallen behind Raphinha’s shadow ever since the Brazilian has returned to action. But with Raphinha ruled out tonight due to a knock, it serves as an excellent opportunity for Rashford to make an impression.

It is not entirely guaranteed that he will start, but if he does, the Englishman must produce one of the best performances of the season, if he is to further guarantee his place in the Barcelona team next season.
