After scoring the decisive penalty against Argentina on the final day of the South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, 35-year-old Ecuadorian striker Enner Valencia is on the move once again.

Valencia is leaving Internacional de Porto Alegre in Brazil to join Pachuca in Mexico, a club he knows well from his previous stint there between 2013 and 2014 before his European adventure. During his time with the “Tuzos”, he netted 18 goals in 25 matches, earning himself a ticket to the Premier League.

The Ecuador captain and all-time top scorer with 47 goals in 100 appearances, Valencia continues to make history. Despite still being under contract in Brazil, Internacional could no longer afford his salary, estimated at more than 3 million dollars a year.
