Corinthians were knocked out of the Copa do Brasil Feminina in the last 16 after a 1-0 defeat by Ferroviária on Monday at the Arena Fonte Luminosa, and centre-back Erika urged unity and a reset for the rest of the campaign.

"We need to close ranks, whether we are winning or losing. Our team is very strong, on and off the pitch. One of us had to win today and it was not us," she said in the mixed zone after the clássico, in remarks published by Rádio Coringão.

"We have Libertadores, Brasileiro, Paulista, many competitions still ahead. Heads up, look at our mistakes and fix what we can for the next games. We always go in to win, not to draw or lose, so keep our heads and carry on."

The defeat continues a frustrating run in decisive matches. In early 2026 they lost the Copa das Campeãs, the Women’s Club World Cup, 3-2 after extra time to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in London. Soon after they were beaten by Palmeiras in the Supercopa Feminina on penalties, 5-4, after a 1-1 draw at the Arena Barueri.

Since the change, Emily Lima’s side lead the league with 28 points from 12 matches. In the Paulista they are second on seven points, two behind Ferroviária, a position that secures a direct semi-final berth. In October the Brabas will contest the Libertadores as they chase a seventh continental title.

Attention now turns to the Brasileiro, with Vitória visiting Fazendinha on Sunday at 11:00 in round 13.
