According to L'Équipe, 22-year-old right-back Esteban Mouton is set to join Laval. He departs Orléans after two seasons in the National, the latest a full campaign.

A day after the transfer window opened, Stade Lavallois are moving to strengthen their right flank. The Mayenne club stayed up in Ligue 2 via the play-off against Rouen, 1-1 in the first leg and 1-0 in the return on 24 May.

Mouton made 30 appearances for Orléans this season, 26 of them starts, providing four assists. It followed a year with Aubagne, his first campaign in the National.

Out of contract at Orléans, the proposed deal with Laval is for three years.

An attack-minded full-back developed at Saint-Étienne from 2013 to 2020, he attracted interest from around six Ligue 2 clubs, including Dunkerque and Clermont.
