Europa League: Bouanani and Durosinmi nominated for best goal of matchday 1
Badredine Bouanani and Rafiu Durosinmi have been shortlisted by UEFA for the best goal award of the opening matchday of the Europa League.
Bouanani made headlines during Stuttgart's win over Celta Vigo. In the 51st minute, the Algerian international controlled a long ball from his goalkeeper before unleashing a perfectly timed lob that caught Radu off guard. This technical masterstroke, executed at full speed, allowed his team to open the scoring. Rafiu Durosinmi also made the shortlist for his goal with Slavia Prague against Servette. The Nigerian forward took advantage of a poorly cleared ball to unleash a powerful shot from the edge of the box. His strike rocketed into the top corner, leaving the Swiss keeper with no chance.
UEFA has posted the four selected goals on its official website and social media channels. Fans can vote until Sunday evening to choose the winner.
