Everton have asked Crystal Palace to keep them informed about full-back Daniel Munoz, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

The Toffees are yet to make any major moves this summer, but have beefed up their squad with new players.

After the likes of Seamus Coleman and Idrissa Gueye left following their contract expirations, Christian Norgaard and Hayden Hackney were brought in to strengthen the engine room.

Tyrique George has been brought in on a permanent deal from Chelsea, while Merlin Rohl has also committed on a permanent basis.

Bringing in a right-back is high on their agenda, as Nathan Patterson is the only natural right-back at the club, and David Moyes plays Jake O’Brien in that position despite him being a centre-back.

Everton have been keen on Celtic’s Alistair Johnston, but that move has hit choppy waters.

West Ham United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka is another potential option for Everton; the Toffees though are casting their net far and wide and are fans of Crystal Palace’s Munoz.

Munoz has been a huge success at Selhurst Park and his composed Premier League performances have not escaped Moyes’ attention.

While there is no suggestion that Crystal Palace are actively looking to cash in on the Colombian, they are in the market for his long term replacement.

The Conference League winners are on their way to sign Union SG full-back Anan Khalaili, and if they are open to letting go of Munoz, Everton will make a move for him.

Everton have asked Crystal Palace to keep them informed about Munoz’s situation in south London.

The Toffees and the Eagles are currently working on a swap deal for Brennan Johnson and Dwight McNeil, which is now close to being agreed.

Munoz joined the London club two years ago from Belgian outfit Genk and he has been one of their standout stars at Selhurst Park.

The recently turned 30-year-old full-back’s deal runs for two more years at Palace, who are well positioned to ask for a high price for him.

Should Crystal Palace be open to Munoz’s departure, it remains to be seen whether more clubs will join the race for him, which could give Everton competition.

It now remains to be seen how the situation develops over the coming weeks, but Everton have registered their interest as they look to be alive to the opportunity of signing the Colombian.
