Everton Cebolinha has been unveiled as Santos’ latest signing and will wear number seven, having used number eleven at Flamengo. In his first remarks as a Santos player, he said the offer was one he could not turn down, called it a privilege to wear the shirt, and referenced former team-mates Rodinei and Arthur. He added that seven holds special meaning for him.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the forward has signed until December as Santos, under financial strain, lean on short-term deals to fight relegation, with Arthur and Lima tied to 2026. The move was also portrayed as suiting Flamengo and putting his past injuries under scrutiny at his new club.

Signed by Flamengo in 2022, Everton Cebolinha made 193 appearances, scored 21 goals and delivered 26 assists. In that period he won two Libertadores, one Brasileirão, two Copas do Brasil, one Supercopa and three Cariocas.

With his Flamengo contract running to December, he chose not to renew. Frustrated by limited minutes, he had repeatedly signalled a need for a change of scene.

The winger drew interest from Vasco, Fluminense, Botafogo, Grêmio and other Brazilian clubs. Russian football was also on his radar, but Santos won the race.
