Santos have confirmed the signing of Everton Cebolinha from Flamengo on loan to the end of the year. The forward had struggled for minutes at the Rubro-Negro.
According to Diario Do Peixe, with his deal up in December, Flamengo chose not to renew and let him seek options. Rio rivals contacted his camp, but the club would not approve a move to a direct competitor.
They were open to talks with the Alvinegro or a switch abroad, and Krasdonar (Rússia) offered a three-year contract. Santos proposed a short arrangement with a renewal option, which appealed to the winger.
With the season in its final stretch, Cebolinha chose the Peixe to aid adaptation to Brazilian football.
He also plans to decide his long-term future after the campaign and still wants to play for another major European club.
Cebolinha joins right-back Rodinei and midfielders Arthur Melo and Lima as mid-window additions.
Born in Maracanaú, Ceará, Everton Soares, 30, emerged at Macaranã EC before starring for Grêmio from 2014 to 2020. He then moved to Benfica, staying until 2022, before joining Flamengo, winning major honours including the Libertadores in 2017 with Grêmio and in 2022 and 2025 with Flamengo. He featured for Brazil in 2018 and won the 2019 Copa América.
