Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur‘s report has sparked fresh debate in English football. According to the report, Tottenham Hotspur have shown keen interest in Manchester City midfielder Jack Grealish. Spurs have long been looking for opportunities to strengthen their attack, especially after they failed to find a permanent replacement for Son Heung-min.
Grealish has featured prominently on their agenda. However, Everton’s involvement changes everything. Grealish has been performing brilliantly for Everton this season, and the club has a permanent purchase option of £50 million in the loan deal with Manchester City.
If the Toffees trigger this clause, Tottenham will almost lose their chance of signing Grealish. Still, Spurs retain some hope, as Everton plan to make the deal permanent for a lower fee next summer. Meanwhile, earlier reports revealed that Everton want to sign Grealish permanently, which makes it clear that the tussle between the two clubs over this deal will continue.

Everton fans are debating how important signing Jack Grealish permanently could be for the team’s future. The 30-year-old’s arrival has injected fresh energy into Everton, as he won the Premier League Player of the Month award in August and made his intentions clear by providing four assists in just two games.
Such performances strengthen the argument that Everton should not hesitate to keep him with the club for a long time. Despite this, the fixed price of £50 million could prove too expensive for the club, and this is why the Everton management will try to settle for a deal with Manchester City for a lesser amount.
By next summer, Grealish will have only one year left on his contract, which will likely lower his value. But the other side involves Tottenham’s opportunity. If Spurs retain their Champions League berth and guarantee Grealish a regular starting role, the decision will be difficult for him.
The Englishman’s desire to return to the England team and prove himself on the big stage could heavily influence his decision. It will be a challenging time for Everton as the club will face pressure to sign Grealish permanently while balancing other financial decisions.
Meanwhile, reports revealed that Everton want to sell Iliman Ndiaye, and the move could form part of a strategy to ease Grealish’s purchase. Overall, Toffees supporters are hoping the club keeps Grealish at Goodison Park for the long term, as his presence appears to strengthen the team’s identity at the new stadium.
