AC Milan is the Serie A club with the most players through to the knockout stage of the FIFA World Cup 2026, with ten Rossoneri qualifying for the Round of 32. During the group stage, Mike Maignan stood out by saving a penalty against Norway, while Rafael Leão found the back of the net against Uzbekistan and Alexis Saelemaekers scored against New Zealand. Chris Pulisic and Adrien Rabiot also produced inspired performances, while Luka Modrić continued to rewrite the record books with yet more historic milestones. Across the tournament, the 32 teams advancing to the Round of 32 have now been confirmed. Under the new 48-team format, the top two teams from each of the 12 groups, along with the eight best third-placed sides, secured their place in the knockout stage. Every AC Milan player progressed to the knockout stage either as a group winner or runner-up, with the only exception being Pervis Estupiñan's Ecuador, who advanced as one of the tournament's best third-placed teams after impressing in head coach Sebastián Beccacece's victory over Germany. Following Canada's win over South Africa, the official Round of 32 bracket has been confirmed: Brazil v Japan; Germany v Paraguay; Netherlands v Morocco; Ivory Coast v Norway; France v Sweden; Mexico v Ecuador (a Mexico City showdown between Santiago Gimenez and Pervis Estupiñan); England v DR Congo; Belgium v Senegal; United States v Bosnia and Herzegovina; Spain v Austria; Portugal v Croatia (a Toronto meeting between Rafael Leão and Luka Modrić); Switzerland v Algeria; Australia v Egypt; Argentina v Cape Verde; and Colombia v Ghana.
