According to Diario Do Peixe, Santos will be without Lucas Veríssimo, Barreal and Neymar after injuries. Neymar and Barreal are only expected to return after the FIFA international window, which runs from 24 September to 6 October.

All three started the goalless second leg against Palmeiras at Vila Belmiro on Wednesday 2 in the Copa do Brasil quarter-finals. Barreal went off before the interval, while Veríssimo and Neymar were withdrawn at half-time.

Scans showed Neymar Jr had a type 2B strain of the right rectus femoris. Barreal sustained a type 2A injury to the biceps femoris. Veríssimo suffered a sprain of his right ankle and has begun targeted treatment.

Neymar and Barreal are expected to miss Cruzeiro and Remo in the Brasileirão, plus the quarter-final ties against Atlético-MG in the Copa Sudamericana.

The trio are in rehabilitation at CEPRAF at CT Rei Pelé under the supervision of the club’s medical team. Veríssimo and Barreal were already due to miss the trip to Internacional on Sunday 6 at 16:00 at Beira-Rio in the 26th round of the Brasileirão.
