Ex-West Brom boss Ryan Mason has been linked with Watford's vacant post.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, bookmakers have him among the early favourites, alongside Garcia Pimienta, ex-Southampton chief Russell Martin, former Leicester boss Marti Cifuentes and the departed Burnley manager Scott Parker.

Watford parted with Ed Still at the end of the season after only a handful of matches. The brother of Will, who briefly managed Southampton this season, endured a poor run.

Mason took his first managerial role at Albion last summer after a lengthy coaching spell at Tottenham. He had also been linked with a move abroad and started the campaign brightly.

Results then tailed off and a defeat to Leicester City proved decisive, with Mason dismissed in January after 27 games. Albion's struggles on the road were a key factor.

Successor Eric Ramsay failed to turn the tide, departing with no wins from nine matches.
