After having endured a difficult last season at FC Barcelona, Ansu Fati left the club in the summer to join AS Monaco on a year-long loan.

Having had a slow start, the La Masia forward burst into form and scored some important goals for the Ligue 1 outfit.

But with the managerial change, his standing within the team went down again, stopping him from building on his promising form.

Barcelona worried

Now, according to exclusive information provided to Barça Universal by journalist Adrian Sanchez, Barcelona are very concerned about Ansu Fati’s situation at AS Monaco.

The La Liga champions even considered the possibility of recalling the 23-year-old forward from his current loan stint in the Ligue 1 and shipping him off to a different team for the second half of the season.

However, there was not enough interest in the Spanish forward for the Blaugrana to go down that route.

So, Ansu will see out the rest of the season at Monaco, although, as things stand, it seems unlikely they will take up the €11 million buy option for the attacker.

Once the campaign is over, the forward does not have a place in Barcelona’s project either. And, as per the information, Saudi Arabia could become an option for him for the future.

Clubs from the Middle East have held an interest in Ansu for some time now, and if his transfer to Monaco is not made permanent, the forward could find himself being pursued by teams in Saudi Arabia.

So far, Ansu has made 16 appearances for Monaco, scoring seven goals in the process.
