Leeds United are going to have to spend money this summer, former Whites player Carlton Palmer has told Football FanCast.
The Yorkshire club are currently being linked with a move for Cagliari star Nahitan Nandez, who could cost a large fee.
According to Calciomercato, Leeds have been told to stump up €36m (£30m) if they wish to sign the 25-year-old midfielder.

Whether the Whites are willing to fork that out on one player this transfer window remains to be seen, but Palmer feels they will have to spend before the market closes.
Discussing Leeds’ reported interest in Nandez in an exclusive interview with FFC, the ex-England international said:
“I think that they’re going to have to spend. Listen, 30 million now is going to be the norm to get a quality player into the football club.
“If you’ve got ambition to push on – Leeds finished midway in the table last season – if you want to finish above that, you’ve got to improve the quality of your squad. And that means you’re going to have to spend more money.”
Leeds, promoted last year, had a very good 2020/21 campaign after finishing ninth in the Premier League.
It will now be interesting to see how Marcelo Bielsa builds on that, with the Whites boss perhaps needing to spend big on players such as Nandez to improve his squad.
