Blues hope young centre-back can gain experience elsewhere in the Premier League
Mamadou Sarr could leave Chelsea on loan this summer as Xabi Alonso finalises his squad ahead of next season.
Standard Sport understands that Chelsea are keen for Sarr to move on loan to a Premier League club next season, though the 20-year-old has several options elsewhere.
Chelsea have also not ruled out keeping Sarr at the club next term, and Alonso is expected to hold talks with the former Strasbourg captain to determine his future.
Sarr joined Chelsea last summer in a £12million deal from BlueCo-owned Strasbourg, and he was part of Enzo Maresca’s squad as the Blues lifted the Club World Cup.
The young defender then moved back to Strasbourg ahead of the 2025/26 season before being recalled by Chelsea on Deadline Day in the January transfer window.
Sarr made just six appearances in all competitions after returning to Chelsea and was left out of the squad for the FA Cup final in May.

His most notable appearance came when Liam Rosenior handed him a surprise start as Paris Saint-Germain visited Stamford Bridge in the Champions League last-16. He struggled to keep pace with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia before being hooked at half-time, and PSG won 3-0 on the night.
There is expected to be plenty of movement in defence for Chelsea this summer, with the club open to letting Trevoh Chalobah leave permanently.
The England international, who is keen on a move abroad, is attracting interest from several clubs, including Serie A side Como.
Chelsea also hold an interest in Crystal Palace centre-back Maxence Lacroix, though they are yet to submit an official bid, with Palace determined to hold out for a sizeable fee for the French international.
Elsewhere, Alonso revealed at his unveiling earlier this week that the club were open to selling Alejandro Garnacho on a permanent deal just a year after his £40m move from Manchester United.
Garnacho missed the start of Chelsea’s pre-season, with the club working on facilitating a move for the 22-year-old.
