Lincoln City now have rival interest in transfer target Tyrese Shade, with both Portsmouth and Charlton Athletic now in the mix
Championship pair Portsmouth and Charlton Athletic have both joined the transfer hunt for a League One forward, Football League World can exclusively reveal.
The summer transfer window has just over two weeks remaining, and after a slow start to it, perhaps due to the knock-on effect of the FIFA World Cup, second tier EFL clubs are finally getting more business over the line.
It comes at a time where the league seasons are about to begin, but for some players, the clubs they are currently at won't necessarily be the ones they're playing for come the September 1 deadline.

FLW understands that one player that is very much in-demand from Championship clubs is Burton Albion attacker Tyrese Shade, and both Portsmouth and Charlton Athletic have entered the hunt for his services.
The 26-year-old, who is a Saint Kitts & Nevis international, joined the Brewers last summer from Eastleigh of the National League, where he gained attention for a 14-goal haul in England's fifth tier.
Shade was able to find the back of the net nine times in League One in his debut season at the Pirelli Stadium, as well as plundering in five FA Cup goals for a seasonal total of 14.
Equally adept at playing as a winger on both sides of the pitch, as well as a centre-forward where he featured for Burton under Gary Bowyer last season, Portsmouth and Charlton are now eyeing up a deal for Shade, with the former looking for a new attacker after a recent injury to Australian youngster Thomas Waddingham.
But there's already a Championship club that have been making their own bids for the forward this summer, who could now end up getting gazumped.

As per a report from Pete O'Rourke earlier in the week, League One champions Lincoln City have had offers snubbed for Shade's services this summer.
The Imps are looking to spend some money after their promotion into the Championship, with towering 6ft 8in Danish striker Mikkel Ladefoged expected to arrive from Vasteras in Sweden for a big fee soon, but Shade has also been on their radar as a more versatile option.
Bids in the region of £2 million from City have been snubbed though by Burton's hierarchy, who are evidently holding out for money money for one of their remaining prized assets.

Burton Albion's rise from a non-league club into the EFL in the 2000s was somewhat of a miracle, and their ascent to the Championship was even more fairytale stuff.
The Staffordshire outfit were always cutting their cloth accordingly, but since the takeover from Nordic Football Group in 2024, and a flurry of transfer activity later, financial losses have racked up for the club.
After surviving League One relegation earlier in 2026, many key players have departed over the summer, such as Udoka Godwin-Malife, Jake Beesley, Fabio Tavares and Dylan Williams.
Charlie Webster would've perhaps been an expected sale by now, but the next out of the door to balance the books could now be Shade, given the amount of interest in him.
