The Red Dragons' ambition has been well-documented under the ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac, with the club looking to reach the Premier League for the first time ever as swiftly as possible.

During the summer window, Wrexham made a plethora of eye-catching signings in order to pack out Phil Parkinson's squad with several options which boasted Championship-level quality and experience, and that hasn't changed throughout the winter window as they currently find themselves occupying one of the division's play-off places.

Despite the aforementioned short and long-term plans which the Hollywood duo have in place in this part of North Wales, it took until Sunday afternoon for the club to confirm their only signing of the window thus far, with experienced centre-back, Zak Vyner, joining from divisional and play-off rivals, Bristol City, on a three-and-a-half year contract after agreeing an undisclosed fee with the Robins.

Parkinson's side have been heavily linked with a whole host of names across several departments in a bid to solidify their place in the top six across the remaining 16 games of the regular second tier season, as they are currently two points clear of nearest challengers, Derby County.

Devlin has recently become one of those names, and Football League World can now reveal the financial details which could be involved in a deal for the 22-year-old who has continued to impress at Fratton Park, despite Portsmouth's lowly position in the table.

It was first reported by Alan Nixon - via Patreon - on Sunday morning that Devlin has emerged as a late target for Wrexham alongside Aston Villa's young Serbian defender, Kosta Nedeljkovic, who is currently on loan in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig.

Parkinson is reportedly looking to provide competition for Issa Kabore, who has featured heavily as a right-wing-back in his 3-4-2-1 system since signing from Manchester City in the summer, with the journalist reporting that a fee would need to be parted with to secure his signature, rather than a potential loan for the aforementioned Nedeljkovic.

In a fresh update on this transfer saga, Football League World understand that the fee which the South Coast side are commanding for Devlin is £2m, with the Welsh side pushing for a deal to be finalised in the coming hours ahead of the 7PM cut-off point.

The four-time Northern Ireland international signed for Pompey back in June 2023 from Glentoran, and has since made 86 appearances for the Blues, scoring five times and posting a further four assists.

Terry Devlin would provide adequate competition for Issa Kabore at Wrexham AFC

In the past 18 months, the Cookstown native has played 57 times in the Championship since Portsmouth's return to the second tier under John Mousinho, and has adapted strongly to the level.

As such, he would certainly provide strong competition for Kabore in the wing-back slot for Wrexham, although it would not be guaranteed that he would start every game, with the Burkina Faso international enjoying a fine individual campaign of his own.

It would be a massive blow for Portsmouth to lose Devlin, though, as they are just four points above the relegation zone, and wouldn't have a significant amount of time to source a replacement.
