Exequiel Palacios completes Ipswich switch | OneFootball

Exequiel Palacios has completed a permanent move from Bayer Leverkusen to Premier League side Ipswich Town, the club confirmed on Thursday evening.

The Argentina international departs after six and a half years with Leverkusen, having made 186 appearances, scored 15 goals and supplied 17 assists.

Sporting managing director Simon Rolfes said Leverkusen were honouring Palacios’ wish to test himself in England after an outstanding spell in the Bundesliga. He praised the midfielder’s ability, character and standing within the squad, and wished him well for his time in England.

Palacios reflected that he had grown into the player he is at Bayer 04, saying the club trusted him and allowed him to develop the qualities that define his game.

He added that he will remain connected to his teammates, staff and supporters, and plans to cheer Leverkusen on during matches, offering thanks to what he called a great club.
