Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Como have entered the race for Benfica forward Franjo Ivanovic, opening exploratory talks with the club and his agent, and that the 22-year-old views a move positively.
Como’s interest predates this window, with the Italian club tracking him last summer alongside Brighton and Fulham, then managed by Marco Silva, before Benfica completed his signing.
In his first season for Benfica, Ivanovic scored eight goals and provided two assists in 42 matches. He started 15 times and did not establish himself as a leading attacking option.
Marco Silva’s arrival as head coach could offer him a fresh chance at Benfica. Como are preparing to play in next season’s Champions League, a factor that could influence any decision if talks advance.
Como, led by Cesc Fabregàs, are also among the clubs interested in Andreas Schjelderup.
