Jack Grealish’s future is accelerating late in the window, with Everton and Aston Villa in contact with his camp and nothing concrete with Sunderland, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Manchester City winger is considering his options.
On Wednesday David Ornstein reported that Sunderland approached Manchester City over a season-long loan for the 30-year-old. That would not conflict with a club-to-club enquiry even if talks with his representatives are yet to advance.
Everton remain keen after taking him on loan last season, while talkSPORT reports Villa would like their former captain back. Premier League rules permit only two domestic loans at any one time, and Villa already have Alejandro Garnacho and Aaron Wan-Bissaka registered on such deals.
talkSPORT also says Manchester City sources have denied receiving an approach from Sunderland, leaving competing versions of how far the move has progressed.
Romano adds that Grealish is keeping his options open and is expected to decide in the coming days. Sunderland know any deal would be complex given his stature, salary and the level of interest.
Meanwhile Sunderland are negotiating for Marseille winger Igor Paixão, having made an offer and reached a verbal agreement on personal terms as Florent Ghisolfi seeks to strengthen Régis Le Bris’s attack before the deadline.
