Chelsea are still keeping a close eye on the situation surrounding Aston Villa attacker Morgan Rogers according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Blues were strongly linked with Rogers last summer, but a move never materialised, and Chelsea opted to pursue other targets.

Chelsea made five attacking signings in the summer, with the pick of those so far being Joao Pedro, who’s impressed this season.

Chelsea still attentive to Morgan Rogers situation

Chelsea are believed to be looking for another attacker in the summer on top of the arrivals of Geovany Quenda and Emmanuel Emegha.

There’s likely to be movement once again in that area of the pitch in regards to departures, to create space for new arrivals.

Who Chelsea opt to go for remains to be seen, but Romano has provided an update on Chelsea’s interest in Rogers.

“Chelsea are still very attentive to Morgan Rogers situation and are big fans of the player,” he told his YouTube channel.

“One to watch again in the summer. In case of a huge proposal, there could be a possibility for Rogers to try a new chapter.”

Rogers has been in good form this season, and has scored ten goals and registered seven assists in 35 appearances in all competitions.

Cole Palmer back amongst the goals

Whilst Chelsea might look at Rogers in the summer, Cole Palmer had a timely return to form in Saturday’s 3-1 win against Wolves.

Palmer scored a first half hat-trick, including two cool finishes from the penalty spot, in arguably his best performance of the season.

Chelsea will hope this is the start of the 23-year-old getting back to his best after a difficult time with a groin injury.

Next up for Chelsea and Palmer is a game against Leeds at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night, with the Blues looking to make it five league wins in a row.
