Right-back Fagner has left Corinthians after terminating his contract, and will sign permanently for Cruzeiro following last year’s loan.

The player said in a post that he had never imagined his cycle at the club would end, adding that some people wanted it to happen and made it happen.

He said he sought new challenges and was extremely happy with what had happened to him and his family over the past year, and that this would continue.

Fagner said it was time to say goodbye to a club where he spent much of his life. He made 578 appearances, won five trophies and played at a World Cup.

Corinthians thanked him on behalf of their supporters for his commitment over the years, praising the way he honoured the black and white shirt.
