Bara Sapoko Ndiaye returned to Senegal’s starting XI in a narrow friendly win over Comoros in Marseille. Former Marseille winger Iliman Ndiaye scored inside the first five minutes for Patrick Vieira’s side.
According to BuLi News, the FC Bayern midfielder had made only two cameos for Senegal since a pre-World Cup debut against the USMNT in North Carolina. After Vieira oversaw the first two competitive matches of his tenure, he set up this friendly with four central midfielders, Pape Matar Sarr, Nobel Mendy, Idrissa Gana Gueye and the 18-year-old.
HSV’s centre-back Warmed Omari completed the full match for Comoros. It came 10 days after his first international goal in a 3-1 defeat to Cameroon.
The Indomitable Lions beat Côte d’Ivoire in Abidjan on Saturday night. Guela Doue was an unused substitute for the hosts as he returns from an injury that had ruled him out since making his Bayer Leverkusen debut in Augsburg.
His Leverkusen teammate Christian Kofane played only 45 minutes during this international break. The Cameroon striker lost his starting berth to Patrik Schick, but he scored three goals in all competitions.
