FC Nantes confirm Michel Der Zakarian return on two-year deal

FC Nantes have appointed Michel Der Zakarian on a two-year deal, the club announced on Wednesday. It marks the 63-year-old’s third spell in charge.

A former Nantes player, he previously led the team in 2007-08 and from 2012 to 2016.

He took the Canaris up from Ligue 2 to the top flight in both those stints. Relegated after a disastrous season, Nantes will again target promotion under Der Zakarian.

He will be supported by assistants David Bechkoura and Vitorino Hilton.

Jean-Marc Branger will oversee performance, with Romain Faure becoming the new fitness coach. Goalkeeping coach Faouzi Amzal and video analyst Robin Freneau remain in their posts.
