Grêmio completed preparations on Tuesday and face Botafogo on Wednesday at 19:30 at Nilton Santos in a rescheduled round 21 Brasileirão fixture. Felipão will take charge as interim head coach.

According to Globo.com, Renato Portaluppi has been hired but is not yet registered, has joined the team at their hotel and is set to watch only. Luiz Felipe Scolari was registered with the CBF on Tuesday and can be on the bench. He will travel back to Porto Alegre with the squad after the game.

Grêmio have added goalkeeping coach Mauri Lima, who previously worked at the club from 2020 to 2024. Fitness coach Rogério Dias returns to the first team and under-20 assistant Kauê Belmonte will support Felipão.

Amuzu has returned to group training in recent days but did not travel to Rio de Janeiro. Pavon returns from suspension and is expected to start, with the line-up likely to mirror that used by Luís Castro in recent matches.

The probable XI is Weverton in goal with Diego Caito, Wallace, Kannemann and Caio Paulista in defence. Noriega, Villasanti and Krovinovic are in midfield, with Pavon, Carlos Vinicius and Jovane Cabral in attack.

Marlon and Dodi remain sidelined with injuries. Left-back Pedro Gabriel is suspended after receiving a third yellow card against Vasco.
