Felix Horn Myhre is set for a medical after his final SK Brann appearance on Sunday evening, with West Brom pushing to complete a move. Brann said in a statement that they had accepted an offer and allowed him to travel for a medical on Monday, adding he deserved a proper farewell.

Albion formalised a bid for the 27-year-old on Friday, following interest earlier last week. A breakthrough in talks is thought to have arrived on Saturday, leaving West Brom in pole position.

Myhre is due to face Rosenborg in the Eliteserien at 6.15pm, which would be his 181st and final outing for Brann.

The fee is understood to be around £3.1m. West Brom appear to have seen off long-term interest from La Liga side Elche. The clubs had spoken a year ago during Albion’s pursuit of striker Aune Heggebo.

Capped seven times by Norway, Myhre joined Brann in 2021 as a right-back and evolved into a leading midfielder. He has 32 goals and 39 assists in 180 appearances, helping the Bergen club win two league titles, reach two cup finals and progress in the Europa League.
